Fredrik Backmans A man named Ove heads to the big screen again, this time with Tom Hanks on board, Deadline reports

The Swedish authors novel, published in the US in 2014, tells the story of a gruff middle-aged man whois inspired to come out of his shell by a new neighbor. It was adapted into a Swedish film in 2015 by Hannes Holm.

The new film is directed by Marc Forster, known for directing Samples Finding Ball and Never Land† Screenwriter David Magee (Miss Pettigrew lives for a day) will write the script. Producers of the film include Hanks, actor Rita Wilson, Gary Goetzman (My fat Greek wedding), and Fredrik WikstrOm Nicolas (Easy money† Forster and Renede Wolfe (Christopher Robin) will executive produce.
